Erickson named MN Vixen 2004 Head Coach

St. Paul, MN. - The Minnesota Vixen, a member of the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL), have selected Wayne Erickson as their head coach for 2004.

The team's executive board, comprised of players and community members, interviewed several candidates for this position. Board Members were impressed with Erickson's enthusiasm and passion for the sport and his vision for 2004 and beyond. "Wayne Erickson has the leadership abilities and football experience that the Minnesota Vixen need to progress to the next level and to compete for a championship" stated MN Vixen President Douglas Farwell.

Erickson has participated in numerous aspects of various sports. He not only has been a player (football QB, RB, TE, and LB), but has coached both men & women in a variety of sports for over 40 years, has refereed at the high school and college level, has general manager experience, has done radio play by play for a Hastings station, started a softball league, and continues to be an active community member by volunteering his time in the Hastings area.

Erickson is in the process of finalizing his coaching staff. Erickson and the Vixen board have interviewed many promising candidates.
