
Empire Signs Veteran Ol Deveric Gallington

SPOKANE, Washington (November 5, 2015)* - The Empire has signed offensive lineman Deveric Gallington to their 2017 IFL roster.
Gallington (OL, 6-3, 330, Texas Tech) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the IFL. Deveric played his last three seasons in the Arena Football League with the Spokane Shock (2014-2015) and the Portland Steel (2016).
In 2016 with the Steel, Deveric saw action in 14 regular season contests (started 13) on the offensive line. He also added six receptions for 28 yards. During his first two seasons in the AFL with the Shock, Gallington played in 22 games (19 starts) while contributing at all four positions up front.
"Deveric Gallington will be a tremendous addition to our offensive line," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "He is a versatile lineman with the ability to play all three spots up front and brings a lot of experience to the table. I know he's excited to return to Spokane and play in front of our faithful fans once again."
Before joining the AFL, Deveric spent time as an undrafted free agent in 2013 with the NFL's Oakland Raiders then the Arizona Cardinals. As a Red Raider, Gallington recorded 38 consecutive starts and saw action in a total of 47 contests over his four collegiate seasons. In 2012, Deveric helped the Red Raider offense rack up 1,674 rushing yards, the most by a Texas Tech offense since 1998 (2,219). He played his prep career at Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas.
