SPOKANE, Washington (January 23, 2016) - The Spokane Empire has signed quarterback Aaron Aiken to the 2016 roster.

Aiken (QB, 6-5, 235, Coast Carolina) joins the Empire for his rookie season as a member of the IFL after spending time with the Fall Experimental Football League's (FXFL) Brooklyn Bolts. Prior to transferring to CCU for his final season of eligibility after completing his undergraduate degree in the spring of 2014, Aiken played his first three seasons at Georgetown University. As a Hoya, Aiken saw action in twenty total contests as a dual-threat quarterback and receiver. During his sophomore season he appeared in seven games, starting four at quarterback. Prior to attending Georgetown, Aiken played his prep football at The Lawrenceville School and Morristown High School in Morristown, New Jersey.

"I have been very selective with our quarterbacks this year," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "I feel that Aaron is a great fit in our system. He has the skill set to run my offense and has all the tools we look for in a productive field general."
