SPOKANE, Washington - The Spokane Empire has signed defensive lineman Bryon Bennett to the 2016 roster.
Bennett (DL, 6-2, 295, Ole Miss) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the IFL after spending time with the NFL's Dallas Cowboys last spring. Bennett played all four of his collegiate seasons at Ole Miss and saw action in 49 total contests (19 starts) on his way to recording 53 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, six quarterback hits, two pass break-ups, and one forced fumble. Prior to becoming a Running Rebel, Bennett played his prep career at Madison Central High School in Madison, Mississippi.
"Bryon is a tough, physical defensive lineman," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "As a three-year starter in the SEC he faced and excelled against the best talent in college football every Saturday which earned him an NFL Contract."
Additional Transactions: The Empire released defensive lineman Tonga Takai (Montana).
