
Empire Signs DB Cassius Sendish

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Empire has signed defensive back Cassius Sendish to their 2016 IFL roster.
Sendish (DB, 6-0, 195, Kansas) joins the Empire for his rookie season as a member of the IFL. Cassius played his final two collegiate seasons at the University of Kansas where he started in all 24 contests during his career and recorded 137 total tackles (104 solo), five pass breakups, three tackles for loss, and one interception. During his senior season, he received the KU Nolan Cromwell award which went to the player who exemplified leadership.
Prior to attending Kansas, Sendish played at Arizona Western where he earned all-region and all-conference honors. He recorded 29 tackles (16 solo), ten pass breakups, and three tackles for loss. He played his freshman football season at the College of the Canyons (CA). Cassius is originally from Waldrof, Maryland.
Additional Transactions: The Empire placed Carl Sims (WR, 6-0, 190, Western Illinois) on the season ending injured reserve list.
Roster Freeze
On June 28, the IFL roster freeze will go into effect for teams entering post-season play. Teams will not be allowed to sign new players to their roster through the end of the season. Players on injured reserve, refuse to report, or other league exempt lists will also be ineligible to be activated.
