
Empire Re-Signs LB Pasquale Vacchio

SPOKANE, Washington - The Empire has re-signed linebacker Pasquale Vacchio to their 2017 IFL roster.
Vacchio (LB, 6-1, 230, Buffalo State) rejoins the Empire for his third year as a member of the IFL. In 2016, Pasquale finished third on the team with 86 total tackles (81 solos) while adding 3.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and nine pass break-ups in 15 regular season games. In the postseason, Vacchio led the Empire with 14 total tackles (12 solos). He also recorded one tackle for loss, one sack, and four pass break-ups.
"Vacchio can play several different positions at a very high-level," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "Beyond his versatility, he brings a physical presence and attitude that can't be coached."
During his rookie campaign in 2014 with Cedar Rapids, Vacchio played in 13 games and led the Titans defense with 107 total tackles while adding 12.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one pass break-up, one fumble recovery, and three forced fumbles.
During his 2011 and 2012 collegiate seasons at Buffalo State, Vacchio saw action in 19 games and recorded 142 total tackles (91 solos), 23 tackles for loss, six sacks, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles. During his senior season, he received D3Football.com All-East Region First Team, All-Empire 8 First Team, and ECAC North All-Star honors. He was also named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week twice. Vacchio played his prep career at North Shore High School in Glen Head, New York.
