Eight Players Make Barracudas 2008 Training Camp Roster

Belton. Tx: In a press conference today, held at the Whataburger in Harker Heights, the Barracudas announced the signing of eight "Hometown Heroes" from the tryout in December. The Barracudas saw the likes of 50 plus athletes looking to make the 2008 training camp roster. With so much talent coming from all over the Central Texas area, it makes choosing the "Best" a difficult decision. "My coaching staff and I reviewed the tryout footage several times, and debated on who we wanted to be bring to camp. These kind of choices are not easy, when you are dealing with guys that are exceptional athletes and are determined to be great players!" stated Head Coach Chris Duliban.

Kevin Kees - From Ft. Hood, a standout out on the field during tryouts was the enormous 6'6", 255 lb military Fireman that was able to show off some of his awesome power and agility. In March, Kees will be trying out for the Tight End position during the two week long training camp.

Chris Lee - From Dallas, Lee made his way 2-hours south to the tryout determined to make the training camp roster, as wide receiver. He recorded one of the fastest times in the 40-yard dash, and had one of the highest verticals for his size. He spent his college career at Alcorn State. and after college Lee played some semi-professional football in Dallas.

Mark Nomura - From Austin, Nomura played college football at Texas State and has played both semi-professional and indoor football since his college days. He came to the tryouts looking to make the roster playing Linebacker, and will have no trouble proving himself in March.

Kelly Hancock - From Austin, Hancock was one of the few players that showed up to test their skills at Quarterback. He will be a great asset to the training camp roster because of his indoor football experience.

Keith Clay - From Austin, Clay came to the tryouts looking to show off his agility and speed. He played Running Back and Linebacker for Nichols State. Another player who will bring some indoor experience to the team after spending some time in the NIFL and the APFL.

James Barron - From Waco, Barron owns his own business in Waco called Barron Motorworks. He was a standout out at the Wide Receiver and Defensive Back position. He does have some semi-professional experience.

Clarence Moss - From Killeen, Moss attended the University of Houston and came to the tryouts looking to see what he could do to catch the eye of the coaches at the wide receiver position. He showed a lot of speed at the tryout and brought some great talent.

Kelvin Irving - From Killeen, Irving another player trying out for wide receiver for the Barracudas. He is still young and proved to have a lot of athleticism, and he will be a player that will standout during the training camp.
