Edge's Cochran Earns League Defensive Honor

The leading tackler in the first shutout in Bloomington indoor football history has earned a weekly honor from the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.

Ross Cochran is the CPIFL Defensive Player of the Week after registering 13 tackles including 1.5 sacks in the Bloomington Edge's 48-0 win over the Kansas Koyotes on Saturday in Topeka. Cochran owns the league record for tackles in a single game with his 15-stop performance in a Week 3 win over the Mid-Missouri Outlaws. Cochran, a 6-1, 250-pound linebacker from the University of North Dakota, leads the CPIFL with 9.6 tackles per game.

The Edge carry a 4-3 record to Lincoln, Nebraska this Friday night to face the 2-4 Haymakers. The Edge defeated the Haymakers 62-46 on April 5 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Friday's game is scheduled to kick off at 7:05 p.m. at Pershing Center with pre-game on WJBC.com at 6:45.

The Edge complete a three-game road swing with Friday's game at Lincoln before returning to Bloomington for the final two regular season home games on May 10 and May 17.
