Edge to "White-Out" Coliseum Saturday against Koyotes

The Bloomington Edge try to begin a new winning streak when they host the winless Kansas Koyotes on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Saturday is White-Out Night with the Edge wearing their white jerseys and inviting fans to join them in wearing white. Hot dogs, soda and beer will be available for only $2. Before Saturday's 7:05 p.m. kick-off, long-time coach Ted Schmitz will be honored for his contributions to Bloomington indoor football. Former players Dusty Burk and Peter Christofilakos were similarly honored earlier this season.

The Edge (2-5) ended a two-game winning streak last Saturday with a 58-27 road loss to the Lincoln Haymakers while the Koyotes (0-6) lost at home in Topeka last Saturday 33-12 to the Dodge City Law. Kansas has the lowest scoring offense in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League with only 26.2 points per game while their defense gives up 54.5 points per contest, ahead of only the Edge, who have given up an average of 56.6 points.

Edge quarterback Charles Dowdell continues to lead the CPIFL with a total offense of 214.6 yards per game. Dowdell also leads the circuit in pass attempts, completions and yardage, completing 119 of 207 passes for 1,341 yards and 26 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. Marcus Lewis is the leading CPIFL receiver with 53 catches for 669 yards and 14 touchdowns. Edge running back Andre Raymond is the league leader with 104 points and 17 touchdowns.
