Edge Sign Top Rusher as Camp Approaches

The Bloomington Edge have added the city's all-time leading indoor football rusher among the latest signings as training camp approaches.

Andre Raymondhas played 42 games over four seasons in Bloomington. In 2012, the Eastern Illinois product recorded 1,106 all-purpose yards including 488 rushing and 394 receiving with 20 touchdowns. Raymond was the Most Valuable Player of the 2008 United Indoor Football All-Star Game.

"We are very excited about getting Andre back for another season," said Edge head coach Kenton Carr. He is one of the hardest workers on the team by far. Not only is he a great runner but he is also one of our leaders in receptions. He is dangerous in many ways. Having Andre back gives us a legitimate shot to win a championship."

Derin Grahamset records in kick returning while at Indiana University after setting the single-season receiving record at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on a state runner-up team. Graham has played eight seasons of arena and indoor football including time in Bloomington.

"Derin brings experience and quickness and can make guys miss in the open field," said Carr. "Derin was with us when we went to the championship game and was our leading receiver. We're looking forward to having Derin back with us."

Shonn Bellbrings size (6-5, 255) and experience to the Edge as a defensive lineman. Bell has experience in arena and indoor football and played briefly with the San Francisco 49ers in 1999.

"Shonn has good quickness and is considered a speed rusher who can get to the quarterback very quickly," said Carr. "He also is very tall and can knock down passes as well."

Lee Bankswas a running back at perennial FCS powerhouse Georgia Southern University, registering 250 yards in his final season there in 2010.

William Keglarreturns to Bloomington, bringing his 6-7, 350-pound frame to the offensive line."William gives us experience and size on the offensive line," said Carr. "He is very hard to get around. I'm very excited to get William back and I know (offensive line) Coach (Nick) Ruud is as well."

The Edge begin play in the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League on March 15 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Sioux City Bandits.
