Bloomington Edge News Release
A local gridiron standout has signed to play this season with the Bloomington Edge.
Austin Davis was a four-year starter at linebacker at Illinois State University after a stellar prep career at Normal Community High School. The 6-1, 220-pound native of Normal received all-state honors from Rivals.com and honorable mention all-state from the Champaign News-Gazette after his senior high school season, followed by his Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team selection in his freshman campaign at ISU.
The Edge are scheduled to begin their second season in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League on Friday, March 7 at the Salina Bombers with the first of six home games set for Saturday, March 29 at 7:05 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Omaha Beef.
