Bloomington Edge News Release
Bloomington, IL - The Edge have signed wide receiver Maurice Dupree, the team announced today. Dupree, the Jacksonville state alum, was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009 and has played professionally for the Alabama Hammers, Jacksonville Sharks, and Columbus Lions, where he was the 2012 Professional Indoor Football League Offensive Player of the Year.
"I'm blessed for the opportunity to join a great organization such as the Bloomington Edge," Dupree said. "I'm looking forward to getting to town and helping bring a championship to Bloomington."
In a record setting year for the Lions in 2012, Dupree (5'11, 190 - Jacksonville State) led the league in scoring (242), touchdown receptions (40), and receiving yards (1278). In addition to that, he was second in all-purpose yards without returning a kickoff. At Jacksonville State, he earned multiple all Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) selections while being a standout wide receiver and a second team return specialist.
"Maurice helps provide our receiving corps with solid veteran leadership," Edge head coach Ameer Ismail reflected. "We're happy to have him on the team and I believe he's contribute significantly to the future success of this organization."
