Edge Set to Take on Ravens

Bloomington, IL - The Bloomington Edge will be opening the 2016 in less than one month, starting with a scrimmage game on Sunday, February 28th at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The Twin City Jets and Midwest Hawks (MASFL) will play at noon, followed by the Bloomington Edge (CIF) vs. the Windy City Ravens (MPIF). Tickets will only be $10 for adults and free for children two and under.
"This game is very important to us, as we have a very talented group of young men that we will be cutting down to 24-man roster the following day. This first game is a great way for local teams to play in the arena, "said Coach Wendell Covert II of the Edge. "We will determine the top players at each position to make cuts."
The training camp will start a week prior for the Bloomington Edge as they welcome players into town on February 20th. "It will be very difficult to make cut decisions this year with the amount of talent we have. All of these guys can play and are top-notch; the competition will be very stiff."
The Edge invites all to come out and support the team, including local favorites such as former Redbird Darrylyn Dunn who is expected to be the featured back in the backfield.
The official home opener is on March 6, 2016 against the Omaha Beast at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Season memberships start as low as $20 which includes exciting new benefits.
