Edge Ink Pair of Veteran Receivers

Bloomington, IL - The Bloomington Edge have signed a pair of veteran indoor football players to the team: wide receivers Marcus "Bones" Barnett and Greg Betterson.
Barnett (6'2, 185 - Cincinnati) comes to the Edge with half a decade of professional experience, with teams the Omaha Beef, Nebraska Danger, Billings Wolves, and Cleveland Gladiators. With the Danger, Barnett held over 250 yards receiving in the past two seasons, along with 4 touchdowns, while also proving to be a solid threat with the Billings Wolves of the Indoor Football League (IFL).
Barnett had an illustrious college football career for the University of Cincinnati. Over the course of three seasons for the Bearcats, he scored 15 touchdowns and holds the school record for 13 receiving touchdowns in one season. For his efforts as a red shirt freshman in 2007, he was a second team all-Big East selection while being a key offensive weapon on Cincinnati's way to a bowl game.
Betterson (6'0, 200 - Delta State) comes to the Edge after having experience in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, as well as tryouts with NFL organizations such as the Buffalo Bills. He last played for the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League (IFL).
Prior to his time in the IFL and CFL, Betterson played at Delta State University after transferring from Minnesota West Community College, where he appeared in two state championships. In his two seasons as a "Statesmen" he helped lead the team to back to back conference titles. In those two seasons, he caught 61 passes for an impressive 834 yards and 10 touchdowns.
"Marcus and Greg are a pair of veterans that know the indoor game very well," Edge head coach Ameer Ismail said. "With this pair, we get two receivers who can come in and make an instant impact on day one."
