Edge Host Beef in Friday's Home Finale

The Bloomington Edge take on a long-time rival on Friday in the final home game of the regular Champions Professional Indoor Football League season.
The Edge hold a 4-5 record in sixth place in the CPIFL as they face the second-place Omaha Beef (7-1) for a 7:05 p.m. Friday kickoff at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Fan Appreciation Night activities include a rally towel giveaway to fans and a post-game concert with popular local band Brushfire, both courtesy of Country Financial.
The Edge rallied last Friday but came up short in a 47-44 loss to the Kansas City Renegades in Bloomington. The Beef nipped the Lincoln Haymakers 27-23 on Saturday in Omaha.
Bloomington has outscored its opponents 404-346 and has outgained the opposition by more than 300 yards in total offense (1,909-1,601). Edge quarterback Andre Brown, a Bloomington native, has completed 61 percent of his passes for 319 yards and six touchdowns. Marcus Lewis leads Edge receivers with 39 catches for 499 yards and 15 touchdowns, while Andre Raymond continues to lead Edge rushers with 253 yards and 12 touchdowns. Ross Cochran leads the Edge defense with 62 tackles.
The Beef have outscored their opponents by an average of just over 14 points per game and have a total offense advantage of 1,707 to 1,371. The Beef have an 81 percent conversion rate in the red zone. Veteran quarterback James McNear has completed more than 69 percent of his passes for 1,095 yards and 27 touchdowns. Beau Kildow has caught 10 of those scoring passes, with seven touchdown strikes to Judd Harrold and five to Jusmon Rivers. R.J. Rollins has rushed for 286 yards and 11 touchdowns. Peter Buck leads the Beef defense with 70 stops including 11 tackles for loss.
Friday's game can be heard on WJBC.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. The Edge then conclude the regular season on the road on the next two Saturdays with trips to play the Mid-Missouri Outlaws and the Sioux City Bandits.
