Edmonton, Alberta (May 10, 2013) - After playing four of its first five NASL games on the road, FC Edmonton is back at a new-look Clarke Stadium on Sunday taking on the surging Atlanta Silverbacks (K.O. 2 p.m.).

With 1,700 new seats opened up for Sunday's game, the Eddies are hoping for a packed-house as they look to leap frog the Silverbacks in the league standings.

The Eddies are currently in fifth place on five points; the Silverbacks are two points ahead of them in fourth place.

Minnesota, Carolina and Tampa Bay are all tied for first place with eight points.

FC Edmonton comes into Sunday's matchup on the heels of a 1-1 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium. Head coach Colin Miller's club found themselves down 1-0 in the first half, but managed to grab the equalizer in the 35th minute thanks to a low shot by midfielder Shaun Saiko.

Going into NASL play this weekend, Saiko leads the league in shots with 16 and was named to the NASL's Team of the Week.

"In this league, you can never switch off at any time," said Miller. "Brian (Haynes) has done a hell of a job with his team. They have an exciting team and, like us, a very young team. They are very offensive-minded and they play a nice quality of football."

Miller's team has recently started to find their footing, taking four points from their last two games after a slow 0-1-2 start to the NASL season.

The Silverbacks are still in search of their third win of the season after playing to a 2-2 draw against the San Antonio Scorpions last Saturday at Toyota Field.

The Silverbacks enjoyed visiting Clarke Stadium last season, taking six points back to Atlanta with them after 2-1 and 2-0 wins. FC Edmonton won both of its games in Atlanta last year, though, making the series an even split in 2012.

The Eddies will be hoping for a large crowd and much more success against the 'Backs at home.

Since the game falls on Mother's Day, FC Edmonton will be honouring Soccer Moms at halftime. The first 100 moms to enter Clarke on Sunday will receive a $10 coupon for the Sawmill, FCE's official food and beverage provider for the 2013 season.

The only way to catch the action live on Sunday will be at Clarke. The Eddies just inked a deal with Rogers which will see nine home games televised nationally on The Score, however the first two games (May 12 and 26) will be shown on tape delay at 6 p.m.

Fans in the States will be able to catch the game live at www.fcedmonton.com.
