ECHL Announces Preseason Schedule

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced its preseason schedule of 22 games beginning Oct. 7 and continuing through Oct. 13.

The preseason opens on Tuesday, Oct. 7 with the defending Kelly Cup champion Alaska Aces hosting the expansion Indy Fuel at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Premier "˜AA' Hockey League will open its 27th season with six games on Friday, Oct. 17. Opening weekend continues with 10 games on Saturday, Oct. 18 and three games on Sunday, Oct. 19.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,706 fans per game in 2013-14, the highest single-season average since 1999-2000, and the 10th consecutive season and the 22nd time in the last 24 years that the ECHL has averaged over 4,000 fans.
