Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
WICHITA - Garrett Spain and Brandon Winoker hit three-run homers through the first two innings Wednesday night, powering Wichita to a 9-3 win over the Hooks at Equity Bank Ballpark.
Spain notched a pair of long balls on the night as the Wind Surge evened the series at 1.
Cole Hertzler, who posted a 2.48 ERA over his first eight Double-A outings, absorbed the setback.
Alejandro Torres, Ramsey David, and Hudson Leach teamed for six innings of one-run ball out of the Corpus Christi bullpen.
David, consistently hitting 100 MPH on the ballpark radar gun, struck out the side in the sixth.

Tyler Whitaker, who walked three times on the night, drew a free pass to start the ninth. After advancing on defensive indifference, Whitaker hustled his way home from second on a swinging bunt by Chase Call, giving Call 17 RBIs in 21 Double-A games.
