
Eagles Travel to Wilmington for Weekend Action

Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte Eagles will travel to Wilmington, NC to face the Hammerheads on Saturday, April 26th one day after facing the Chicago Fire Reserves at UNC-Charlotte.
Charlotte is currently sitting at 10th place in the 2014 USL PRO standings with three points after two games (1-1-0) after having the Easter weekend off. They won their previous game against the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, April 12th 2-1 at Queens Sports Complex. Richmond held a 1-0 going in to the 54th minute before Drew Yates found Juan Guzman who hammered home a left footed finish to bring the score level. Yates was dangerous again in the 89th minute as he took a Tolani Ibikunle throw in and found Jorge Herrera, who curled in a left footed shot past Ryan Taylor, giving the Eagles the 2-1 victory.
Wilmington has also been on a break having last played against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday, April 12th. The Hammerheads were able to come away with a 4-3 win on the road against the Riverhounds behind goals from Steven Miller, Daniel Lovitz and a pair from Samuel Ochoa.
The Hammerheads and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer agreed to a partnership deal this off-season as part of the deal between the two leagues the Canadian club has sent down three players to the North Carolina club. Manny Aparicio, Daniel Lovitz and Quillan Roberts have all played a part in the Hammerheads 2014 season. Aparicio has featured in both games, going 140 minutes so far this season. Lovitz registered his first goal of the season against Pittsburgh and also has an assist to his credit. Roberts has earned both starts so far this season in net.
Be sure to check out the Eagles' next home game against the Chicago Fire Reserves on Friday, April 25th at UNC-Charlotte. Kickoff from TransAmerica Field is set for 7 pm.
