Charlotte Eagles News Release
The Charlotte Eagles will be heading South this weekend to the Citrus Bowl to take on the current leaders of the USL PRO, the Orlando City Lions, Saturday night at 7:30 PM.
The Eagles have had a week full of travel as they spent the majority of the week flying back and forth from El Paso, TX for the Open Cup. Charlotte came away with a much needed win against the El Paso Patriots 1-0.
This win advances them to the third round of the Open Cup. They will be flying back to Texas on Monday for a game against the FC Dallas of the MLS.
This trip to Orlando is sandwiched between Open Cup trips.
These teams met in the USL PRO Eagles' home opener on April 7th. Orlando came away with a 2-0 win. The Eagles continue to struggle to put consecutive wins together, while Orlando has maintained relatively consistent.
With the addition of Christian Meza to the Eagles line-up, the squad will look to put together the winning combination to bring Orlando its first loss, which will be no easy task.
