Charlotte Eagles News Release

Charlotte, NC --The Charlotte Eagles will play host to the Rochester Rhinos in USL PRO action this Friday, April 19th at 7 pm at Queens Sports Complex. The Eagles are coming off of a 2-0 home victory over Antigua Barracuda FC while the Rhinos are looking for their first victory of the season, coming off two losses to VSI Tampa Bay FC and Orlando City SC.

The Eagles were led by goals from Nate Thornton and Christian Ramirez in Saturday's victory over Antigua and Coach Steffens will be looking for more of the same

from the offense. Goalkeeper and captain Eric Reed will be looking to his defense to continue their stellar play which only allowed one shot on goal in the shutout of the Barracudas on Saturday.

Head Coach Mark Steffens had this to say about the upcoming game, "Rochester has been a strong team in the USL for over a decade. I expect them to come out very hungry against us on Friday. We will need to bring our best effort to come away with 3 points. Our team will be ready for the battle."

The Rhinos are led by Head Coach Jesse Myers who is in his second season leading Rochester after spending 14 seasons as an assistant with the Richmond Kickers. Goalkeeper Krisitan Nicht is looking to match his 2012 form which saw him win the Goalkeeper of the Year award and lead the league in clean sheets with 11. Forward Blake Brettschneider, who played his collegiate soccer at the University of South Carolina, is on loan from the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer and scored the Rhinos lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Orlando City this past Sunday.
