Charlotte, NC -- The Charlotte Eagles are pleased to announce that veteran goalkeeper Eric Reed is coming back for another season in the orange and blue. Reed, 29, the Eagles captain is looking to build on a very successful season in the net for the Eagles. The former UCLA Bruin has found a home in Charlotte after playing previously for the Carolina RailHawks, Cleveland City Stars and California Victory.
While the coaching staff and front office are putting the 2013 Eagles squad together it is nice to know that they can count on Reed to build around. Eric Reed was tied for 3rd in the USL Pro in Goals Against Average with a 1.00 in 2012. He recorded seven shutouts while playing 1890 minutes in 20 games last season. The 9 wins Reed recorded were good for 6th in the league and his 64 saves were also good for 7th overall.

His communication skills are vital to our defensive organization; I credit Eric for our tight defense. Eric positions himself well in every situation, has great hands, and excellent distribution. These are some of his attributes that set him apart from most keepers. I'm expecting another big year out of Eric." said Head Coach Mark Steffens
Eric Reed added "I am really excited to play and serve with the Eagles for the 2013 season. With two new clubs in the league and the USL Pro promising another great year of competition and rivalries, I can't wait to get on the field and get the season under way! In addition, I am anticipating an incredible camp season and all that the Lord has in store for His children. Both on and off the field, I believe 2013 will bring a lot of excitement and passion and I look forward to seeing all the different ways that Jesus will work in our lives!"
