Charlotte Eagles News Release

The Charlotte Eagles finish up their USL PRO regular season this weekend with a back to back against the Wilmington Hammerheads.

Their first meeting will take place in Charlotte on Friday Night, August 17, 2012, at 7:00 PM EST. The game will be played at Wingate University. Game two will take place on Saturday night, August 18, 2012, at Legion Stadium in Wilmington at 7:00 PM EST.

The Charlotte Eagles had a rough start to the 2012 season, not finding a win until their sixth appearance, the squad has rebounded with a 8-1-1 record in the last ten games.

The recent success has catapulted them into a current playoff position but they need to find success this weekend in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Eagles met Wilmington for the first time this season on May 19th at Legion stadium. The result was a 1-1 draw.

Wilmington's playoff hopes ride on this weekend as well. They currently sit just one point ahead of the Eagles and will be fighting for their life in post season play.

The Eagles will take to a different home field this Friday night. The team will host Wilmington in Monroe, NC, just off interstate 74 at Wingate Soccer Complex on the property of Wingate University.

As this is a make-up game all season ticket holders will have access to the game at no additional charge.

All Wingate employees and families and students will receive a $5 ticket at the gate with a Wingate ID badge.

Campers, wear your 2012 Eagles Camp t-shirt and get a complimentary ticket at the gate.

Come out and cheer your Eagles on to victory and the playoffs!
