Eagles Make the Long Trek to Pennsylvania to Take on the Ice Miners

The Eagles will be on the road this weekend, as they travel to Pennsylvania, for the first of back-to-back trips to the Keystone state, and will take on the Ice Miners for a pair of games, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. You can catch all the action, live or on-demand, on fasthockey.com. The Ice Miners have charged up the standings, and are currently in second place in the North Division, five points ahead of the Eagles. The Eagles are led in scoring by Sandis Zolmanis, who has 12 goals and 27 assists this season. Trevor Cope has 16 goals and 21 assists, while Keegan Miller is (14-21- 35).

The Ice Miners are led in scoring by Taylor Fernandez, who has seven goals and 20 assists this season. Matt Jones has 11 goals and 11 assists, while Jacob Coleman is (3-19- 22). Jack Berry is 11-9-0-1 on the season for the Soo Eagles, with a goals against average of 3.23 and a save percentage of .898. Sean Keating is 10-11-0-0, with a GAA of 3.33 and a SV% of .894. Alex Blankenburg is 12-10-0-3 on the season for the Keystone Ice Minders, with a goals against average of 2.46 and a save percentage of .923. Nick Kossoff is 10-5-0-1, with a GAA of 2.14 and a SV% of .936.

The Eagles and Ice Miners have met four times this season, with each team winning a pair of games, on the other's home rink. These teams will square off two more times in the regular season, March 13-14 in Sault Ste. Marie. The Eagles are in third place in the North Divison, five points behind second place Keystone. The Jets are in command of the North Division, leading the Ice Miners by 21 points. Johnstown are one point behind the Eagles, in fourth place, with Springfield three points back of the Eagles, in fifth place. The Eagles are at Johnstown next weekend, and will be home, Feb 20-21, against Michigan.
