Charlotte Eagles News Release

(Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Eagles Pro Soccer team will host the Bermuda Hogges in the Eagles regular season finale on Friday, August 10th at Waddell Stadium, 7:00 pm. This weekend is the last weekend of regular season games. Richmond, Cleveland, Harrisburg and Charlotte have all clinched a berth in the USL-2 playoffs, but the final seeding will come down to this weekends results.

The Charlotte Eagles have clinched the fourth qualifying position in the regular season to advance to the USL-2 playoffs. Friday night's home game hosting the Bermuda Hogges will have no impact on the final playoff seeding, but a win for Charlotte would be a positive end to the regular season for the Eagles, and put them on a high note heading into playoffs. The Bermuda Hogges are currently the bottom dwellers in the league table, but the Hogges could move up a few spots with a strong finish in their final two games this weekend.

The Richmond Kickers are the defending national champions, who defeated the Eagles in the Championship match last season. Richmond currently holds the first spot in the division, but they will have to defeat the Cleveland City Stars on Saturday night in order to hold onto that spot.

The Cleveland City Stars currently sit in the second place position, but a victory over Richmond on Saturday would give Cleveland first place and the top seeding in the playoffs. A loss would mean second or third depending on Harrisburg's final match performance.

The Harrisburg City Islanders hold the third place position in the league at the moment. Harrisburg will host Crystal Palace Baltimore on Saturday night. Harrisburg has a slight chance at a second place finish to the season if they defeat Crystal Palace and Richmond defeats Cleveland.
