(Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Eagles are back at home this weekend hosting the Cincinnati Kings at Waddell Stadium on Friday night, June 1st. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Charlotte won a game and tied a game against Cleveland last season. The Eagles are coming into Friday night's game sparked by their two road wins last weekend, 2-1 at Western Mass and 3-2 at New Hampshire. Eagles' forward Jacob Coggins remains at the top of the USL-2 scoring statistics with eight goals and three assists in seven matches, for 19 points. Look for Columbian National Jorge Herrera back in the line up, helping to control the midfield and bolster the attack. Cincinnati's Mike McGinlay currently leads the Kings in scoring with three goals and one assist in 6 games played for 7 points.

The Charlotte Eagles currently hold the second spot in the USL Second Division with 5 wins, 2 losses for 15 points, just one point behind the league-leading Richmond Kickers. Cincinnati is currently in the fifth position in the USL-2 at 2-3-2 for 8 points.

US Open Cup: The U.S. Open Cup, which is recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 93 consecutive years dating back to 1914.

The Charlotte Eagles have qualified for the US Open Cup tournament and their first round pairing has been scheduled. The Eagles will host Lynch's Irish Pub FC, a USASA team from Jacksonville, FL. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12th at UNC Charlotte's Transamerica Field, with a kickoff time of 7:30pm. The winner of that match will advance on to the second round facing the winner of the Atlanta Silverbacks vs. Azzurri round one match. The second round game will be played on June 26th; time and location to be determined. LADY EAGLES ON THE ROAD THIS WEEKEND

The Charlotte Lady Eagles are on the road in Atlanta, GA this weekend, facing the Atlanta Silverbacks Women at 7:55pm. The Lady Eagles opened up their 2007 season facing Atlanta at Waddell Stadium back on May 11th and shutout the Silverbacks Women 3-0. Atlanta is undefeated in the rest of their season and stand together with Charlotte and Richmond at the top of the W-League Central Conference Atlantic Division with 6 points each. The Lady Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season, falling to Richmond last Saturday. Charlotte hopes to get back to their winning ways this weekend. Kelly Schmedes currently leads the team in scoring with three goals in three games. Abby Crumpton, Deanna Bath, Nikki Lyons, and Tina Murphy each have one goal for Charlotte this season.

Next week the Lady Eagles are back on the road for a two game road trip to Florida. Charlotte will face the Cocoa Expos on June 7th and the Bradenton Athletics on June 9th. The Lady Eagles return home on June 16th for Kick for the Cure Night presented by 107.9 The Link. June 16th is a doubleheader night as the Lady Eagles host Bradenton at 5:30pm followed by the Eagles pro team match at 8:00pm hosting the New Hampshire Phantoms.
