
Eagles Final Regular Season Road Trip Takes Them to Johnstown

The Soo Eagles will make their final regular season road trip of the year this weekend, as they travel to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, for a 3-game set again the Tomahawks, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Eagles are led in scoring by Trevor Cope, who has 22 goals and 29 assists this season. Sandis Zolmanis has 13 goals 35 assists, while Mitch Vanderberg is (17-22- 39). The Tomahawks are led in scoring by Casey Linkenheld, who has 22 goals and 19 assists this season. Trevor Recktenwald has 14 goals and 24 assists, while Joe Drabin is (10-24- 34). Chad Catt is 7-2-0-1 for the Soo Eagles, with a goals against average 2.17 and a save percentage of .925. Jack Berry is 13-10-0-1, with a goals against average of 2.94 and a save percentage of .906.
The Eagles and Tomahawks have seven times this season, with the Eagles winning four of those contests. The Eagles are 2-1 in Johnstown this season, sweeping the last series on Feb 13-14. Looking around the North Division, the Janesville Jets, have clinched first place, and home-ice advantage throughout the Division Playoffs. The Eagles maintain their hold on second place in the North, by a point over the Keystone Ice Miners, and with Saturday night's victory, clinched a spot in the playoffs. Keystone is in the playoffs, with a midweek victory over Johnstown. Johnstown is in fourth in the North Division, eight points behind the Eagles and five points behind the Ice Miners. They are currently one point ahead of fifth place Michigan. Springfield is in sixth place, three points out of the playoffs.
Soo Eagles Playoff Burger Bash The Soo Eagles will be playing hockey in April, clinching a playoff birth last weekend, and help celebrate it with them, at the Elks Lodge, on Monday, March 30th with a Burger Bash.
This event will take place from 4-7 p.m., with tickets $7.00. You will be able to sit down and talk to Eagles players and coaches as they look for a North Division Playoff Championship and a spot in the Robertson Cup.
