Charlotte Eagles News Release
Bermuda came out of the gates and ran at the Eagles for five intense minutes. Staying composed, the Eagles' first venture into Bermuda's penalty area saw Ben Page head home an Amaury Nunes cross. A minute later Diego Martins headed in a deflected shot to make it 2-0 at the 7:30 mark.
The Eagles moved the ball around well and kept a firm grip on the game. It was at 30 minutes that Dustin Swinehart amazed everyone by picking up a ball turned over at midfield and floating the keeper from fifty yards bringing the score to 3-0.
Just before the half Darren Toby combined with Josh Rife to get in the box and slot in a coolly placed fourth tally.
Not to be outdone by Swinehart, Martins fired a turning laser from 30 yards that found the Bermuda keeper diving to his right as the ball passed him to his left at 50 minutes.
Ten minutes later Swinehart pushed in his second goal fed to him by Alex Woods.
Having scored eleven goals in the last two games, the Eagles appear to be in stride and brimming with confidence. The Eagles hope to take their good form on the road as they visit the Western Mass Pioneers next weekend.
The Eagles will be back at home on Saturday, June 20 hosting the Richmond Kickers at Charlotte Christian Stadium.
