Eagles Beat Richmond 1-0, Extend Winning Streak to 6

The Charlotte Eagles defeated the Richmond Kickers 1-0 with a goal from Darryl Roberts in the 80th minute.
With the win, Charlotte extends it's USL PRO winning streak to 6 games.
The game got off to a fast start with both team getting early chances off of crosses but both sailed wide.
Charlotte had another excellent chance in the 10th minute when Mauricio Salles take a one touch shot only to see it deflected away.
In the 12th minute, Richmond's Ryan Heins recorded a shot on goal but Charlotte 'keeper Eric Reed scooped up the ball.
Salles had another great opportunity in the 19th minute but Richmond 'keeper Ronnie Pascale made a fantastic diving save to keep the game scoreless.
The Eagles best chance in the first half came in the 33rd minute when Cheyne Roberts sent a beautiful ground cross in to Roberts who sent a rocket toward the goal only to have Pascale knock it out to the feet of Nate Thornton who shot was subsequently cleared away.
After a very give-and-take first half, Charlotte and Richmond went into halftime tied at 0-0.
The tempo of the second half was very similar to the first. Both teams were able to hold possession at different points in the game.
In the 51st minute Roberts was yellow-carded for a foul on Richmond's Jason Yeisley.
Following a near goal by Salles in the 66th minute, Charlotte put in a nice run of play with Jorge Herrera feeding the ball to Roberts who fed the ball to Cheyne Roberts who got just enough of the ball to send it towards the goal but the Richmond defense cleared it away.
Roberts made up for his yellow card when he found the back of the net in the 80th minute to put the Eagles up 1-0. Mark Bloom had a nice assist on the play.
Richmond picked up the pace after the goal but the Charlotte defense held strong and the Eagles kept the Kickers off the board to win 1-0.
Charlotte forward Darryl Roberts was named Player of the Game.
