Houston Dynamo FC News Release

The Houston Dynamo remained perfect at home with a 2-1 comeback win over the LA Galaxy in a rematch of MLS Cup 2011 on Saturday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium. Dynamo defender Andre Hainault provided the game-winning goal with a header from a Brad Davis corner kick in the 57th minute.

The Dynamo (4-3-4) stayed perfect at their new home, with two wins and a draw from three matches at BBVA Compass Stadium. It was the third consecutive sellout crowd, with 22,039 in attendance at the downtown arena.

After falling to the Galaxy 1-0 in MLS Cup 2011, the Dynamo earned a measure of revenge with a win in the only meeting between the two clubs in 2012. The Galaxy (3-8-2) are now winless in their last seven games.

United States international Edson Buddle delivered an early lead for the Galaxy in the tenth minute. The buildup started with David Beckham finding Chad Barrett alone behind the Houston defense on the right flank. Barrett played a ball to the middle of the area, where Buddle finished past Tally Hall for his second goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.

After several great opportunities to equalize the Dynamo finally broke through in the 38th minute. Brian Ching secured the ball on the right side of the penalty area, and ripped a shot from a tight angle that bounced off the cross bar before it hit LA midfielder Mike Magee in the legs and rolled into the net for an own goal as the Dynamo pulled even.

The game-winning goal came from a corner kick taken by Brad Davis. The all-star midfielder sent a pinpoint cross to the edge of the six-yard box at the near post and Hainault flicked a strong header to the far post, where it hit the side netting for the decisive goal. It was Hainault's second goal of the season and his second game-winning goal after the Canada international scored in stoppage time to beat Chivas USA on March 11.

It was Davis' 75th assist for the Dynamo in all competitions. Davis has the most assists in franchise history. Hainault started his 100th match for the Dynamo in all competitions.

Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell made his 200th MLS regular season start.

The Dynamo return to the pitch on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. when they face the San Antonio Scorpions in the U.S. Open Cup from Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. The Dynamo return home for the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. to meet Valencia CF of Spain.
