Dylan Fawsitt Reaches 50 Caps
March 20, 2022 - Major League Rugby (MLR)
Rugby New York Ironworkers News Release
On Saturday, March 19th Dylan Fawsitt became the fourth player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches. Fawsitt reached the 50 matches mark shortly after teammate Sam Windsor took the pitch.
Although he was born in Ireland, Fawsitt moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Life University. He was capped by USA Rugby in 2018 when he joined the USA Men's Eagles as they faced Chile.
Fawsitt first began playing in MLR in the inaugural 2018 season, and joined Rugby New York when they launched in 2019. He's been a leader for the team ever since their first season, helping the team to two playoff runs. Fawsitt was named to the All-MLR First XV in 2019, and the All-MLR Second XV in 2021.
So far in 2022, Fawsitt has already assisted New York to a 5-1 start to the season. He's scored one try, run 120 meters and made 42 tackles. Dylan Fawsitt's impact on Rugby New York, and Major League Rugby as a whole, is undeniable.
Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The first three players to reach 50 caps for MLR were Angus McLellan of the Utah Warriors, Tim Metcher of the Seattle Seawolves, and Fawsitt's teammate Sam Windsor of Rugby New York.
Stay tuned for more announcements as players reach the 50 caps milestone, and cement their spot in Major League Rugby's history.
