Dusters to conduct first practice in pads Tuesday

Amarillo, TX 3/10/09 - The Amarillo Dusters of arenafootball2 will conduct their first full practice in pads Tuesday evening at the Amarillo Civic Center.
The practice, held on turf laid in the Civic Center's North Exhibit Hall, will be the initial full-contact practice for Amarillo under new head coach Ben Bennett. After two days of workouts and light-contact scrimmages, the Dusters will strap on pads and helmets as the roster continues to be whittled down towards the final 22 players.
"We are excited to finally hear the 'pop' of helmets and clash of the pads," said Bennett. "The players are eager to get out there and battle for a roster spot."
The practice, which is open to the media and public, will begin at 4:00 PM.
The Dusters' regular season will begin March 27, with a re-match against the Yard Dawgz at the Civic Center.
