Amarillo Venom News Release
AMARILLO, TEXAS The Amarillo Dusters are well into their season and have a winning record at 4-2. They face their biggest challenge of the season against the Lubbock Renegades this Saturday.
Head Coach Chris MacKeown said that he hopes people will come and pack the house on Saturday and create a hostile home environment for the Lubbock Renegades.
"Playing at home is a huge advantage in the arena game," MacKeown said. "We need as many crazy and fired up fans as we can get in order to throw Lubbock off of their game."
The Dusters organization will be hosting a Ladies & Breast Cancer Awareness Night for Mothers Day Weekend on Saturday.
"This is a perfect opportunity for the Dusters organization to show its appreciation for moms," said vice president, Joe Morgado. "It's also an opportunity to recognize cancer survivors and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease."
The Dusters will be wearing a special limited edition jersey, sponsored by Britkare Home Medical. Each jersey will be signed and auctioned off at the end of the game, with proceeds going to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
"We as players and coaching staff understand the importance of supporting a cause like cancer awareness," MacKeown said. "It's good to take the opportunities that we have as role models in a community to support these special causes."
Special group rates and sponsorships are available for the game on Saturday.
"People can get involved by being either platinum, gold, silver, or bronze sponsors which includes tickets to the game and more," said Andi Leavitt, Dusters media director. "It's a great opportunity to show your support of this important cause."
"Bring mom, bring the kids, and bring your friends for a night of honoring moms, supporting cancer awareness, and while your at it, see a great arena football game, too," MacKeown said.
Tickets and sponsor packages for Ladies & Cancer Awareness Night are on sale now. For more information, call the Dusters Offices at (806) 350-7277. You can also get your tickets at any Panhandle Tickets outlet or by calling the Amarillo Civic Center Box Office. Join the Dusters in supporting cancer awareness this Saturday.
