Dumais and Hulton Win at 2022 CHL Awards

Saint John, NB - The CHL Awards were held on Tuesday night in Saint John, NB and two notable QMJHL members received national recognition for their outstanding 2021-22 season.
Halifax Mooseheads forward Jordan Dumais won the CHL's Sportsman Player of the Year Award. A prospect for the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Dumais just ended a terrific campaign in which he scored 39 goals and added 70 assists in 68 games. One of the top used forwards on the Mooseheads, the Ile-Bizard, QC native spent no more than six minutes in the penalty box all season.
Charlottetown Islanders Head Coach Jim Hulton was named the recipient of the CHL's Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award presented by CoinSmart. The 53-year-old from Kingston, ON was behind the bench for a seventh consecutive season and led his team to a 103-point campaign (48-13-7-0). The Islanders finished the season third in goals scored (283) and second in goals allowed (179). Hulton's special teams also played a significant role in the team's success; the power play (26.2%) was ranked fifth in the league, while the penalty kill was the most efficient in the QMJHL (84.3%).
