Colorado Springs, CO (October 17th, 2023) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the USL Championship officially announced today that Duke LaCroix has been named to the Team of the Week and Christian Herrera on bench for Week 32 of the 2023 season, presented by Konami eFootball.
Duke LaCroix played an impressive game last Saturday against Phoenix Rising FC. In the 12 ¬Â², #14 Duke LaCroix carefully brought the ball inside the 18, and with a quick pass to #27 Juan Tejada, Tejada hit the ball at an angle sending it straight into the net. LaCroix had 41 of 46 passes overall, winning 4 of 6 duels, and making two interceptions and seven recoveries.
Christian Herrera earned his 10th clean sheet of the 2023 regular season this Saturday securing him a spot on the bench for Team of the Week. A notable save during Saturday's match was in the 36 ¬Â². Phoenix's midfielder Emil Cuello shot the ball right inside the 18 and Herrera caught the ball with precision, leaving Phoenix with no goals.
The Switchbacks now head into playoffs this Saturday against San Antonio FC.
