
Drouin, Brassard and G̮̩linas named the TELUS three stars of the month of November

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday December 2nd, 2013 - Jonathan Drouin, Fran̮̤ois Brassard and Guillaume G̮̩linas were named today the TELUS three stars for the month of November.
Jonathan Drouin is the first star of the month of November in the QMJHL. The Halifax Mooseheads forward impressed by scoring 12 goals while adding 19 assists. His 31 points allowed him to tie the team record for most points in a month, also held by two other players during the 1999-2000 season, Brandon Reid and Ramzi Abid. The 1st round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning maintained a +14 rating, and scored at least one point in each of his 10 games. In seven games, he scored at least three points, and matched his career-high five points in a game against Acadie-Bathurst on November 22. The average of 3.1 points per game maintained by Drouin in November allowed him to climb to second position in scoring.With 47 points, he is 12 points behind the QMJHL leader, Anthony Mantha who has 59. Drouin's performances helped his team get 9 wins in 10 games for the month of November.
The 19-year veteran goaltender Fran̮̤ois Brassard gets the second star for November. The Quebec Remparts goalie maintained a goals against average of 1.90 and a save percentage of 0.939 in 537 minutes of play. He got two shutouts out of four wins. Moreover, from November 10 to 22, he shutout his opponents for a QMJHL record setting 212 minutes and 10 seconds. The previous mark of 207 minutes and 4 seconds, held by Mathieu Chouinard (1997-98 | Shawinigan), was surpassed at the end of the third period of the game between the Remparts and the Tigres on Friday November 22nd at the Pepsi Coliseum in Qu̮̩bec. In 8 out of 10 games, he maintained a save percentage higher than 0.900. This season, he is the QMJHL goaltender who has the most shutouts (4), while ranking third in the league with a save percentage of 0.912.
Guillaume G̮̩linas, the Val-d'Or Foreurs defensemen, is the third star for the month of November with 16 points in 12 games, 10 of which were collected during games played on the road. With a +/- rating of +7, the 20 year old defenseman was also very conscious of his defensive performance ending all his games with a positive or even rating, helping his team get 9 wins from November 1st to the 30th. He scored eight goals, one of which proved to be the winning goal in an overtime game against Baie-Comeau on November 15, ending the game with a 5-4 win for the Foreurs. He now ranks first in the entire league among defensemen with points (39) and goals (16).
