Drive to Play Sauk Valley Saturday and at Indiana Sunday

Bloomington, IL, 1/26/12 - The Central Illinois Drive, presented by Sonic, will play the Sauk Valley Predators at home this Saturday at 1:05 pm. The Drive will also play at the Indiana Diesels on Sunday at 1 pm. The game with Indiana was originally scheduled for Jan. 21 but due to bad weather the game was postponed.

The Drive and the Sauk Valley Predators played last Sunday at Sauk Valley in a battle of unbeaten teams. They came into the game as the only two perfect teams in the PBL, both sporting 3-0 records.

The game went back and forth as the Predators took an early lead but allowed the Drive to gain a 15 point lead going into the final quarter. The Predators were able to come all the way back to take a late 115-114 lead with only nine seconds to go on a Justin Tubbs three-point shot. Daniel Ruffin of Central Illinois played "Mr. Clutch" hitting a two-point basket with four seconds left to win the game for the Drive 116-115.

The two teams have not played since that night and the Drive come in with the only perfect record. They sit at 4-0 and are on top of the PBL standings. With the late loss the 3-1 Predators will be geared up for the rematch.

Disney star Bella Thorne, "CeCe Jones," will be at the game as well Saturday. She will be visiting with fans and signing autographs throughout the afternoon.

The Indiana Diesels are 1-3 on the season. Their only win came back on Jan. 15 against the St. Louis Phoenix at home. The Diesels' leading scorer is Daniel Artest with 71 points while shooting 0.25. Nigel Bryant follows Artest with 64 points and nine three-point baskets.

The Drive will play the Diesels three games in a row starting Sunday. The Drive will be back in Indiana on Saturday Feb. 4 at 3 pm. The Diesels will be in Bloomington on Super Bowl Sunday at 2:05 pm. The game should give fans something exciting to do before getting ready for the Big Game that night.
