Drive out Muscle Chicago 109-82 at Wisconsin Dells, Move to 13-0

Wisconsin Dells, 2/25/12 - The Central Illinois Drive, presented by Sonic, extended their so far perfect season to 13-0 with their 109-82 victory over the Chicago Muscle Saturday night. The game was played at the Wisconsin Dells but was a home game for Chicago. Matt Salley had a double-double and led the team in scoring with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Perry Petty had 17 points and went 9 for 10 at the free throw line. The Drive shot 47.567% overall and were 6 got 18 from three-point range. The team made 19 of 27 free throws.

The Drive continued a usual theme as they got out to an early lead. Central Illinois went on a 10-2 run to start the opening quarter of the game. Todd Peterson had the only three-point basket for the Drive in the 1st. The offense was nice, but the Chicago Muscle kept with the Drive. Central Illinois ended the quarter up 26-22.

The Drive offense kept rolling in the 2nd quarter as they stretched the lead to 12 points. The Drive scored 24 points in the quarter to Chicago's 17. At the half Perry Petty and Josh Edmonds both had 9 points. The Drive led 50-39.

For most of the 3rd quarter the two teams matched each other. Eventually the Drive took control and extended their lead to 18 points. The quarter score was only 34-31 in favor of Central Illinois, but the Drive led the game 84-70 entering the final quarter of play.

It was all Drive in the 4th as they had a 21-4 run to start the quarter and opened the lead up to 31 points. It was their largest lead of the game. The quarter score as 25-12 as Central Illinois won the game in decisive fashion.
