
Drive Improve to 11-0, Defeat Sauk Valley 112-93

Sauk Valley, IL, 2/18/12 - The Central Illinois Drive, presented by Sonic, kept the winning streak alive by defeating the Sauk Valley Predators 112-93 Saturday night on the road. The Drive are now 11-0 on the season. Rodney Edgerson led the team with 31 points and made 7 of 10 three-pointers. Perry petty capped off his exciting week with a 28 point game. The Drive shot 52.87% overall and went 12-26 from three-point range. They were 8-14 from the free throw line.
The Predators took the lead in the opening quarter but they were not able to outrun the Drive. Rodney Edgerson scored 10 points in the quarter for Central Illinois and the Drive were able to keep the explosive Desmond Hollaway silent. His teammates picked up the slack as the Predators led 28-26 after the 1st.
The 2nd quarter was just as balanced as the first. Both teams continued to trade baskets. The Drive came back to take a brief lead, but then it was retaken by Sauk Valley. After the 27-27 quarter the score was 55-53 Sauk Valley.
The Drive took over in the 3rd quarter.
Everything went right They scored 35 points in the quarter and held Sauk Valley to only 11 points. Perry Petty and Rodney Edgerson were tearing it up for the Drive. Petty had 28 points through three quarters and Edgerson had 23. The Drive ended the quarter up 88-66.
The final quarter was much more like the first half, than the 3rd quarter. The Drive scored 24 points to Sauk Valley's 27 in the quarter and were able to wrap up their 11th straight victory.
