Dragons See Room for Improvement After Loss

SEATTLE - The Dragons knew the game was within reach. But, after a 24-12 loss to Dallas on Saturday at CenturyLink Field, they also know they didn't execute enough down the stretch.
Coach Jim Zorn spoke about missed opportunities postgame: "When you watch the tape on this, you're going to see, he was open wasn't he? But you didn't get him the ball ... or we had the right defense on him but he ran 40 yards because we lost contain. It will be that kind of a deal."
The loss was not how Seattle envisioned ending its day after a quick start on offense that had them leading 12-6 at halftime. Quarterback Brandon Silvers hit wide receiver Austin Proehl for a 21-yard touchdown on the first offensive drive. Later in the first half Silvers found running back Kenneth Farrow for a 19-yard score.
Unfortunately, the offense stalled in the second half, leaving the pressure on the defense.
The defense picked up where they left off last week with three turnovers, while linebacker Steven Johnson appeared to be in on almost every play. He led the team in tackles for the third straight week with 14. While the defense played well overall, the Renegades made some halftime adjustments that led to them racking up 94 of their 103 rushing yards in the second half. Dallas' ground game was effective in keeping the Dragons offense off the field, helping them secure the win.
The Dragons are already moving forward, though. With everybody gathered in the locker room during postgame, Johnson addressed the team, saying, "We've got enough in this room."
Coach Zorn added, "Keep your heads up ... we get them again."
