Dallas Rage News Release
DALLAS â March 17, 2003 â One of the first National Women's Football Association (NWFA) teams to come to Texas, the Dallas Dragons, will host another set of tryouts on Sunday, March 23, 2003 to help fill its 2004 team roster. The team's owner, Maria Nava, has recruited a new team of coaches to take the Dragons into their inaugural season. The new coaches, including one female, have experience on both sides of the ball and are eager to step into the world of professional women's football.
Earl Adams, coaching with the Irving Boys Football Association for 17 years, was named head coach of the Dragons. Adams states, "As coaches, we want to lead by example â believing in them, so they believe in themselves."
Sunday, Adams will be looking for women who are serious about football and who have the drive to win. "I expect this team to learn and produce," he commented.
Nava added, "I want women who want to be a part of history...who have the heart to play football."
Tryouts, beginning at 3:00pm at the Josey Ranch Sports Complex in Carrollton, will be the second round with the new coaches in place. Participants will be put through intense drills, testing their strength, endurance, speed and skill.
