Dragons Game Day For Thursday May 13th

The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the first game of the four-game set. Season Series: First meeting tonight.

Last Game: Dayton completed a three-game sweep of Fort Wayne with a 5-4 victory. Josh Garton belted a three-run home run that brought the Dragons back from a 3-2 deficit. Tommy Nurre homered in his first at-bat with the Dragons. Andrew Means had two hits for Dayton. Starting pitcher J.C. Sulbaran (3-1) earned the win, going five innings and allowing five hits and four runs (three earned) with two walks and six strikeouts. Donnie Joseph worked a scoreless ninth for his fifth save. Dayton relievers worked four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.

Today's Starting Pitcher: Josh Ravin is a 22-year-old native of Tarzana, California. Ravin lost his last start on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader at South Bend (5 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO). Ravin was selected by the Reds in the fifth round of the 2006 draft out of Chatsworth High School, a powerhouse team that won a state-record 54 straight games during Ravin's tenure. Ravin spent the entire 2009 season with the Dragons, allowing two earned runs or less in 10 of his 15 starts. Ravin was the Dragons Pitcher of the Month for June, going 2-1, 1.80 in five starts. He did not pitch after June 25 due to an elbow injury.
