Vancouver Dragons News Release

(Vancouver, British Columbia)-The Vancouver Dragons professional basketball club of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) has entered into long-term lease discussions with the Agrodome, a 4,000-seat sports arena on the grounds of the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) at Hastings Park near downtown Vancouver.

The parties began serious lease discussions in the summer of 2006, and submitted a preliminary lease for the 2006-07 CBA season to the PNE Board of Directors. The four-member board called a special meeting on October 8, 2006 to consider the lease proposal, but required more time to resolve issues concerning the use of the public building by a professional basketball team. It did, however, officially authorize its staff to enter long-term lease discussions beginning with the 2007-08 CBA season.

The chief negotiators are Michael Tuckman, President and CEO of the Dragons, and Peter Male, PNE Director of Sales. On February 16, 2007, Mssrs. Tuckman and Male mutually concluded that it was not advisable to make a short-term lease due to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games plan to begin a staged security lockdown of certain PNE facilities in 2008. The parties have therefore shifted their focus to the 2010-11 CBA season after the conclusion of the Games. "The challenges were simply too great for us to make a go of it before the Winter Games," said Tuckman.

"The attention of the international sports community will be on Vancouver for the next three years, and we felt we might get lost in the glow of the Games. We think it will be better to build on the buzz created by one of the world's premiere sporting events."

"We're very anxious to see the return of pro basketball to B.C.," added Male. "But, we want to do this right, and Mike and I agreed to adjust our timetable accordingly."
