San Francisco Dragons News Release

San Francisco, CA - The San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that they have acquired Jim Wagner from the league's player pool. Wagner had a prolific scoring career at West Point and was selected to the honorable mention All America Team and was a 1st-Team All Patriot League selection after scoring 42 goals and adding 10 assists in 2005. He served as a team co-captain and was on the pre-season Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Wagner finished his Black Knight (Army) playing career as the 9th all-time leading scorer with 151 career points, and his 118 career goals place him 4th all-time at West Point. He became only the second player in the 86-year history of Army lacrosse to record back-to-back 40-goal seasons, and the first Army player to average 3 goals per game in a single season since 1978. Currently he is a commissioned Second Lieutenant in the US Army stationed at West Point and serves as a graduate assistant with the Black Knight lacrosse program.

"We were pleased to find a player of Jim's talent available to us at this point in the year. He is a tremendous player and a proven leader, and we are excited to have him join our team in San Francisco" said General Manager Doug Locker.
