San Francisco, CA -In a trade announced today, the San Francisco Dragons and the Philadelphia Barrage completed a deal that sends Xander Ritz to the Dragons in exchange for the Dragons third round pick in the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft.

The 27th overall pick by Philadelphia in the 2006 Collegiate Draft, Ritz recently completed a successful senior year at the University of Maryland. Ritz, as team captain in 2006, tallied 34 goals and 12 assists for the Terrapins.

In addition, Ritz was selected as an Honorable Mention All American and was named to the All Atlantic Coast Conference Team. He has not played this season for the Barrage.

"We are very pleased to add a player of Xander's ability to our roster," commented Dragons GM Doug Locker, "and we feel that he is a good fit for our team as we enter the second half of the season."

The San Francisco Dragons are currently in second place, a half game behind the Denver Outlaws in Major League Lacrosse's new Western Conference. Their next two games are against the Los Angeles Riptide, July 22nd in Los Angeles and July 23rd in San Francisco.
