Dragons Acquire Matt Ogelsby In Trade With Los Angeles

Burlingame (CA) - The San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse announced today that the team has acquired Matt Ogelsby and Garrett Wilson from the Los Angeles Riptide in exchange for Ben Bailey.
Ogelsby comes to the Dragons after playing two seasons in Los Angeles and captaining the Riptide to the MLL Championship Game in 2007. He played in 11 games for Los Angeles over two seasons collecting 7 points. During nine seasons in the National Lacrosse League he scored 55 goals and added 102 assists. A graduate of Duke University, he was the ACC Player-of-the-Year and a three-time All-American Selection. He currently operates All West Lacrosse Camps (allwestlacrossecamps.com) a very popular youth lacrosse camp company in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Wilson was selected in the 3rd Round of the 2008 MLL Supplemental Draft by Los Angeles. A 2007 graduate of Georgetown, he was a Tri-Captain and helped lead the Hoyas to the NCAA Quarterfinals. He was a three sport star at Episcopal HS (PA) being named Team MVP and Co-Captain in lacrosse and football and participated in basketball.

"Matt is a leader, has high personal goals and plays the game the way it was meant to be played. In Garrett we have added a very strong athlete, who we feel has the potential to contribute immediately." The Dragons also benefit from both of these players being San Francisco residents.
"I can't tell you how excited I am to have been traded to the San Francisco Dragons to play in my own backyard." Said Matt Ogelsby. "I played with, and won an NLL Championship with our new coach, Tom Slate, when we were both with the Philadelphia Wings. I'm looking forward to getting started with my new teammates and coaching staff and will be ready to do my part to contribute to the Dragons success in 2008" continued Ogelsby.
