Timo Walther

Round 3, Pick 69

In the third round of this year's NAHL Draft, the Magicians opted to go abroad and select forward Timo Walther from Mannheim, Germany with the 69th overall pick.

Walther was a standout on Jungadler Mannehim of the German Development League (DNL) this past season, collecting 21 goals and 27 assists for a total of 48 points in 43 games played. He was also a participant in the most recent World Junior Classic as a member of Team Germany in the U18 Division. At the World Junior Classic, he contributed 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games as the team's Assistant Captain.

Walther will be the 3rd Jungadler Mannheim alumnus to make the trip overseas to play for the Magicians, joining Luki Laub and Marc Michaelis as the other two. Laub currently owns the Magicians' single season records for goals with 22, and Michaelis scored over a point per game with the Magicians before committing the Minnesota State-Mankato and making the jump to the United States Hockey League (USHL).

Speaking about drafting Walther, Magicians Head Coach and General Manager Scott Meyer said, "Timo is a solid player from the Mannheim program in Germany. He brings experience and compete to our lineup."
