Minnesota Magicians News Release

Round 2, Pick 33

The Minnesota Magicians' first selection of the 2016 NAHL draft came in the second round with the 33rd overall pick. With their selection, the team grabbed Hunter Lellig, a young defenseman from Waterloo, Iowa who is already committed to play Division I hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCHC).

Lellig is a product of the Chicago Mission AAA hockey program. After playing at the bantam level from 2012-2014, he spent the past two seasons playing for the Chicago Mission U16 team of the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL). In 42 games played over that span, the defenseman registered 4 goals and 7 assists for a total of 11 points. He is expected to play a key role as a member of the Magicians' defensive corps this season.
