Brookings, SD - The 2015 NAHL Draft was this past Tuesday where the Blizzard selected 9 total picks.
1ST ROUND (5) - Jack Suter, '95, D, Sioux Falls Stampede
4TH ROUND (73) - Nicholas Blachman, '98, F, Omaha U18
5TH ROUND (94) - Gage Mackie, '97, F, Shattuck St. Mary's
6TH ROUND (115) - Peyton Jones, '96, G, Lincoln
7TH ROUND (132) - Gianluca Esteves, '97, F, Winnipeg Blues
8TH ROUND (146) - Coltyn Bates, '97, F, Brandon Wheatkings Midget AAA
9TH ROUND (158)Â - Michael Maloney, '98, F, Team Illinois
10TH ROUND (169) - Martan Yelle, '98, F, Mission U16
11TH ROUND (179) - Christian Canavati, '96, D, Alexandria HS
Tender signees this year include Parker Revering, Josh Kuenmichel, Brendan Payne, Kasey Fitzjerrells, Tyler Berndt, Andrew Froese, Brett Callahan, and Nick Ford. The Blizzard traded for Kane Durment (Minnesota Magicians), Will Gauthier (Soo Eagles), and Chase Gamelin (Soo Eagles). Durment is a high-powered forward and is expected to be one of the top point scorers this coming season. Both Gauthier and Gamelin are committed to Lake Superior State. These draft picks, tenders, and trades will be added to the 11 returning veterans to create the 30-man protected list.
The Blizzard will hold their main camp June 29-July 1 in Maple Grove, MN. The camp is invitation only, and all interested players should contact the coaching staff for approval to attend camp.
