Dr. Matthew P. Melander Named Medical Director for Missouri Monsters

ST. CHARLES, MO - The Missouri Monsters of the Ultimate Indoor Football League have added Dr. Matthew P. Melander as the team's Medical Director and Team Orthopedic Surgeon, it was announced by Howard Balzer, Monsters senior vice president of operations.

Dr. Melander is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who sub-specializes in Sports Medicine. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2007 at the prestigious Methodist Sports Medicine center and was team fellow for the 2007 Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts.

"The care of our players is, of course, of the utmost importance," Balzer said. "We are pleased to have Dr. Melander and his expertise be our partner in providing the best possible medical care for Monsters players."

Dr. Melander provides a wide variety of Orthopedic and Sports Medicine services in St. Charles County. As a Sports Medicine Specialist, he has cutting-edge expertise with ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff and labral tears of the shoulder, cartilage restoration, and hip arthroscopy.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to work with the Missouri Monsters. It's a great addition to the sports community in St. Charles County." Dr. Melander currently serves as a Team Physician for local high schools, universities and club teams.
